Ask which employee handles arrest, transport, property, and records questions. If Lane County did not create the booking, ask for its placement or transport entry and the identity of the receiving jail. Then direct the release-record request to that jail’s designated custodian.

The Kansas Sheriffs’ Association identifies Sheriff Ron Ridley and corroborates the Dighton address and contact. Operational arrangements and officeholders can change, so current placement should still be confirmed for the named arrest.

Lane County provides an open-records form through the County Clerk page, but the form is only a delivery mechanism. For a jail-related record, first ask the Sheriff to identify the correct custodian. Public documents absent online may still be available at a courthouse terminal or from the clerk. Sealed, expunged, juvenile, and other protected records are excluded from ordinary public access. An old third-party page cannot restore a record to public status.
